Pro-Atheist Ad Coming to Charleston

6a00d8341c51c053ef010536e4758b970b-450wiOn Monday, the Secular Humanists of the Low Country, the same group that brought us the “In Reason We Trust” license plates, along with the American Humanist Association are putting up a pro atheist billboard in Charleston, SC.  The ad will read “Don’t believe in God?  You are not alone.”  The campaign will definitely be controversial and hopefully go a long way to promoting dialogue. Secular Humanist Vice President Herb Silverman says, “We expect it to generate a mix of reactions from surprise, curiosity, and even uplift.”  The billboard will be placed on highway I-26 near the Spruill Avenue exit.

I am extremely excited about this even though Charleston is about a 3 1/2 hour drive from here.  If anybody sees it in person, send me a picture and I’ll post it.  Hopefully this is just the beginning.

President Obama stated in his inaugural address that this was also a nation of non-believers (the first time the words non-believers were said in an inaugural btw.) Now it’s time to give people the opportunity to see that atheists and/or non-believers do live in the bible-belt and their are a lot of us.

  1. Guess you never read his book…

  2. In fact I did read Audacity of Hope and I plan to read Dreams from my Father soon. The picture is referring to how he was raised. His mother was an atheist and he was brought up in a very secular household. The point is that he is a great person without a religious upbringing

  3. Maaaan, you know there is such thing in the web like search engine, http://google.com if you don’t, go there to understand why this post is bullshit

  4. Obama is a freemason, so he believens one superior being. that is not christain to me, because a christain believes that jesus christ is the lord and god is his father and thats that.
